Something I've had stored on my computer for about a year just popped up in my pictures folder yesterday. I believe I was going for a 'mystical, haunting' feel when I began working on this, and everything turned out similar to how I had imagined it.
The image of the 'fireflies' by the window was something I pictured while walking by the villa in the original photograph. I remember the window was so curious, so enticing -- it was like a portal to the perfect stage for something mysterious to happen, and I wondered if there were indeed ghosts inhabiting the place. The tour guides and other personnel on the grounds in which the building was situated were not able to provide any solid answer, so all was left to speculation and dreams.
The words written in porcelain font several times throughout the image spell out "Dreaming below zero." It was actually the name of my school's winter art show a few years ago, so I take no credit for actually coming up with that. I only used it because the color scheme of the picture reminded me of a ghastly winter, and I was aiming for the final product to have a dream-like quality to it, anyway.
